Thanks to the integrated EF mount, Canon EF lenses can be easily adjusted on the software side via Baumer-GAPI, Baumer-neoAPI or third party software in order to dynamically adapt focus and aperture to applications. External accessories and their cabling can be completely dispensed with. This simplifies integration, reduces costs and increases reliability. Applications with changing working distances and lighting conditions, such as track-and-trace in pharmaceutical logistics, benefit in particular from the dynamic lens control.

The high-quality Canon EF lenses deliver high-contrast images with a high depth of field. Modern lenses with ultrasonic motors are also supported. These achieve precise, low-noise and very fast focusing with high reliability and reduced power consumption in order to implement applications cost-efficiently and robustly. Based on the GMAX3265 sensor from Gpixel, the cameras offer outstanding image quality and a high dynamic range of 66 dB. A compact optical format with a diagonal of 37 mm is achieved through a small pixel size of 3.2 µm. This reduces edge shading and simplifies lens selection. Minimum exposure times of 19 µs reduce the movement artifacts of fast objects. Thanks to 65 megapixel resolution, the number of cameras required for each application is often halved in order to reduce system and integration costs and increase reliability.

The 10 GigE cameras in the LX series are the ideal choice for demanding inspection tasks that also place high demands on the level of detail of image capture and throughput. They have a very wide range of functions for solving demanding applications. These include multi ROI, shading correction, HDR, precise time synchronization in accordance with IEEE 1588 or the direct control of lighting without an external controller. Based on the robust M12 connectors, IP 65 and IP 67 protection class and a temperature range of -30 to 60 °C, the cameras are ideal for applications with difficult environmental conditions such as analyzing motion sequences in outdoor sports or inspecting overhead lines and pantographs in rail transport. Thanks to the 10 GigE interface, they can also be integrated easily and cost-effectively, while the images can be transmitted efficiently with a high bandwidth of 1.1 GB/s, which reduces the evaluation time.
