Wenzel sets a new course
To mark its 50th anniversary, Wenzel from Wiesthal is setting a new course. Dr. Heike Wenzel is now the sole managing partner of the Wenzel Group, Frank Wenzel has left the company. The company also intends to further expand its market position in the field of measurement technology.
In recent years, Wenzel has developed from a medium-sized company into a globally active group. This was made possible by strong growth in the field of measurement technology products and services. The digital transformation opens up enormous opportunities for metrology. This includes measurement in and on the production line, integration into automation solutions and the combination of tactile and optical measurement solutions in companies. Wenzel wants to take advantage of these opportunities and invest more in developments in this area. For this reason, the Gear Measuring Technology and Styling Solutions divisions will be separated from the Group and continued by Frank Wenzel.
Wenzel serves customers worldwide and has developed into a leading provider of measurement technology and styling solutions. The group will retain the familiar structures and contacts in the field of measurement technology, it said. The entire group will remain almost completely intact; only Wenzel DesignTec and a small location in Karlsruhe have left the group. All other locations in Germany and abroad will remain under the umbrella of the Wenzel Group.
Production continues at headquarters
The new direction has already been communicated to the workforce in advance. The headquarters in Wiesthal will continue to be responsible for the production of the machines. Some 320 employees are already working here, some of them in the second generation, who are largely responsible for the company's success to date. "It is a matter close to my heart to preserve my parents' legacy and make it fit for the next generation," explains Dr. Heike Wenzel. She sees the new direction as the right and logical step. "The separation will strengthen transparency and cooperation within the company and will therefore certainly be able to generate a positive boost that will take us further forward."
With the departure of Frank Wenzel, Prof. Dr. Heiko Wenzel-Schinzer has now joined the Executive Board. Among other things, he is responsible for the Group's digitalization strategy. He has been supporting the company in the realignment of software development and digital transformation since 2015. He is the husband of Dr. Heike Wenzel and thus maintains the tradition of the family business with short decision-making paths in management. as
