Alternative to optical positioning methods
Solutions for workplace and intralogistics systems
With the SensorBoard for detecting the position and orientation of components, RK Rose+Krieger is integrating a technology commonly used in television studios into its modular system for customized system solutions.
The SensorBoard is flexibly scalable and in many cases replaces cost-intensive camera and sensor technology. The system demonstrates its advantages particularly in combination with (collaborative) robots, axis systems and the further automatic processing of products.
Originally developed to enable TV cameras in studios to be moved unmanned from the control desk, SensorBoard technology also has a wide range of applications in industry. Whether automation systems, transfer technology, processing machines or workplace and automated guided vehicle systems (AGVs) - the SensorBoard shows its advantages wherever precise positioning or the handling of freely positioned components is required. Unlike conventional sensor and camera technology, the performance of the SensorBoard is not negatively affected by poor or extreme or changing lighting conditions or by dirt, dust or oil.
The SensorBoard consists of at least two sensor surfaces and is flexibly scalable from 100 square millimetres. When combined with a cobot, it positions or detects components lying on a sensor surface or in the room with an accuracy of 0.01 millimetres and grips them as precisely as if the system were mechanically coupled. Used in manual cobot trolleys (or fully automatic AGV systems) that move between several workstations or assembly lines, the SensorBoard technology enables highly accurate positioning of the respective vehicle at its destination, thus preparing it for further fully automatic handling of products from a wide range of industries.
The RK Rose+Krieger subsidiary RK-AHT integrates SensorBoard technology into customer-specific solutions. The company offers solutions for manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic tasks in a wide range of industrial environments.
Interested parties can now experience the new SensorBoard solutions in action in the RK-AHT showroom in Bienenbüttel.
