From May, 70 of the 240 employees worldwide, now spread across 7 locations, will be working in the new building with its modern working environment. After the official ground-breaking ceremony at the end of March 2019, construction took just over a year to complete. "Considering that our electronics production had already gradually moved into our new plant at the end of 2019 and quickly started production, we can be very satisfied with the overall duration of the construction, despite the construction boom in 2019 and the coronavirus crisis," says Managing Director Sven Wischnewski.

The new plant in Bad Krozingen now has 5000 m² of floor space for the production of electronic devices as well as sales and marketing. The investment volume, including machinery and building equipment, amounted to 13 million euros and, according to the company, is a commitment to local production in Germany and to the long-standing employees from the region.

The production infrastructure with modern workstations and machines for the production of electronic circuit boards for the company's own drive technology, for example, was aligned with "lean production" methods.

Ecologically sustainable energy supply

To protect the environment and the climate, several charging stations for e-cars and e-bikes have been installed in the company parking lot for visitors and employees. These are powered in an ecologically sustainable manner by a large-scale photovoltaic system on the roof of the building. Geothermal probes with heat pumps and a concrete core activation system that promotes air conditioning are further elements in the energy-efficient operation of the new plant.

Siko now manufactures at its plants in Buchenbach, Bad Krozingen and Cham in Switzerland for global companies in the mechanical engineering and industrial sectors.

Managing Director Wischenwski summarizes: "The new and modern plant in Bad Krozingen was a necessary and correct step for the future of Siko GmbH. Our latest products are not only innovative, but also important for the realization of Industry 4.0 production and automation processes in industry. These are areas that are constantly gaining in importance and growing. The Bad Krozingen site gives us and our employees the opportunity to grow with the markets relevant to us and to manufacture and market innovative products that will set future market impulses".
