Production measurement technology and ball guides

pb,

On the road during a busy trade fair week

Mahr from Göttingen was represented at the Automatica and Laser World of Photonics trade fairs in Munich from June 27 to 30, 2023. The focus was on automation solutions for classic and optical production metrology as well as ball guides.

Mahr offers a comprehensive portfolio to drive forward automation in production:

Mahr Engineered Solutions (MES) has developed a particularly economical solution for automating recurring measurements. A collaborative robot loads measuring stations in the measuring room or near the production area without an operator, which significantly increases the degree of utilization of the measuring station and thus greatly increases productivity.

Various measuring devices

The MarSurf M 310 mobile roughness measuring device can be controlled via PLC and with ASCII commands and can therefore be integrated into an automatic process. Thanks to its compact and robust design, it is also suitable for use in demanding production environments.

The Digimar 817 CLT height measuring device is equipped with touchscreen operation, ergonomic handling and a wide range of evaluation options. It is available in three measuring ranges: 350, 600 and 1,000 millimetres.

Optical measurement technology for surfaces

Surface properties often determine the performance of components. In order to measure these characteristics quickly and accurately to the nanometer, Mahr offers various solutions with optical measurement technology. For example, the flexible and versatile Fizeau interferometer Maropto FI 1100 Z ensures non-contact form and wavefront measurement. With the Marsurf CM explorer optical 3D microscope, customers receive a compact and user-friendly complete package that uses confocal technology to precisely measure and analyze surfaces.

Guide elements for mechanical engineering

Marmotion ball bearing guides are universal guide elements for linear and rotary movements in automation processes in many branches of industry such as mechanical engineering, precision engineering, optics, medical technology, electronics and other sectors. They offer maximum repeat accuracy with low maintenance requirements and a long service life, which reduces costs and optimizes production processes.

With appropriate production measurement technology - tactile or optical, stationary or mobile - Mahr offers the right solutions. The products and solutions for precision ball guides in particular enable the precision required for ambitious and innovative applications in automation.

As the leading trade fair for components, systems and applications in the photonics industry, the laser trade fair demonstrates the requirements for precision and automation. For Mahr, both simultaneous trade fairs are a suitable platform for reaching different customer segments synergistically.
