News and product updates from Smartgas

Annina Schopen,

Portable gas analyzers for outdoor use

Smartgas is starting the second half of the year with a series of updates to existing products and a number of new products. Portable analyzers expand the range of applications, while new accessories such as protective housings and heating modules for sensors also upgrade existing systems and make them more robust in operation under difficult conditions.

Smartgas was already able to present the current expanded portfolio at the Sensor+Test 2023 trade fair. The new additions are portable gas analyzers with a compact design that are suitable for common gas measurement applications in the field and provide reliable results quickly. The Portable Analyzer and Portable Analyzer mini versions are available, both of which have an operating time of eight hours thanks to a powerful rechargeable battery and can perform up to three measurement tasks simultaneously. Various interfaces such as RS232, USB or Bluetooth are available and operation is via touchpad. The high-performance sensors operate in a temperature range from 5 to 40 °C and the system is complete with integrated pump, filter and sensor calibration.

Anarex with more application options, new O2 sensor

The gas analyzers in the Anarex series can now be used for a variety of other gas analyses; up to five measurable gases can be analyzed simultaneously. Operation is as convenient, intuitive and user-friendly as ever. The system includes filters and pumps to draw in and prepare the gas sample and to protect the high-performance sensors.

A new addition to the Smartgas range is an O2 sensor: the paramagnetic oxygen gas sensor module has a very low cross-sensitivity and has been developed with a long service life and stable long-term performance in mind. Internally heated to 55 °C, the ambient temperature has only a minimal effect on the output signal during normal operation.

New accessories protect against external influences

New protective housings with a thermal seal and integrated power supply are available for the Smartgas sensors, which protect the precision devices from temperature fluctuations. They also ensure a shorter warm-up time and fast operational readiness. The new heating element prevents condensation inside the sensor and always keeps the system within the optimum temperature range after the warm-up phase. The heating module can be used for cuvette lengths from 40 to 300 mm.

The environment created in this way increases the accuracy of the measurement results and speeds up response times. The new products and product updates are available immediately.
