First measure, then photograph

AKL-Tec has adapted its Cubiscan 125 for static volume and weight measurement of irregularly shaped and cubic objects. The toolkit now has a high-resolution 20 megapixel camera with optical zoom.

As a result, the user no longer has to measure the item first using Cubiscan and then photograph it in the studio. Instead, thanks to complete automation, a high-resolution photo can now be taken directly from above, eliminating a time-consuming step for the customer.

The software also offers the option of cropping, in which the object on the image is cropped and the rest is removed. In this way, the customer automatically receives a cropped image of the object, which can also be used for advertising purposes, for example.

The image is also used to detect details such as content information or other labels. Furthermore, the high resolution can be used in applications for the detection of plain text such as labels or content information. For measurement, small parts and non-cubic objects are measured using infrared scanning and larger, cubic objects such as boxes are measured using ultrasonic sensors with very high precision of up to 0.1 centimetres.

Cubiscan 125 is specially designed for connection to a warehouse management system. This facilitates order picking and transport planning on the one hand and the selection of packaging and storage locations on the other. It is also suitable for checkweighing and is compatible with load optimization programs. as
