Stemmer and MVTec expand cooperation
Stemmer and MVTec are expanding their collaboration in the UK and Ireland. The agreement covers the distribution of the two machine vision software packages Halcon and Merlic and will come into effect on September 1, 2019.
The new agreement builds on the current distribution agreement between the two companies, which already covers 14 European countries.
MVTec Halcon is an image processing software with an integrated development environment that enables the fast and cost-effective creation of industrial image processing applications. It provides a platform for system integrators and the development of OEM image processing solutions or subsystems. Thanks to its portability to various microprocessors/DSPs, operating systems and compilers, the software is suitable for use in embedded vision systems. MVTec Merlic is an all-in-one image processing software with which complete solutions can be realized without programming.
Mark Williamson, Managing Director of Stemmer, said: "We are delighted to be expanding our existing software portfolio in the UK and Ireland with Halcon and Merlic. Stemmer customers will benefit from access to MVTec's cutting-edge software tools with powerful 2D and 3D application capabilities and state-of-the-art deep learning techniques."
Gerhard Wagner, Sales Director EMEA at MVTec, is also delighted: "We have built up a strong partnership with Stemmer in many parts of Europe. We are now looking forward to working with them in the UK and Ireland. Stemmer also has a large team there that is able to offer comprehensive support and development services to OEM customers, machine builders and system integrators."
