Testing of oversized parts
CMM increases the efficiency of part loading
Hexagon introduces Delta Opera, a large-volume coordinate measuring machine (CMM) designed to simplify the loading of oversized parts in industrial environments.
Thanks to Delta Opera's open design, the CMM can be loaded with workpieces from three sides, making the loading process faster and more flexible. Workpieces are also protected from damage caused by collisions with the CMM structure.
Delta Opera allows part loading from the front, rear and one other side of the measuring volume, making it ideal for large aerospace and milling applications. It also requires less space than conventional bridge CMMs, which reduces the cost of temperature control, according to the manufacturer.
"For manufacturers who need to inspect oversized parts, part loading is a difficult and time-consuming task," says Marco Mussino, Product Manager and Head of Project Management at Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division. The Delta Opera simplifies part loading, increasing inspection efficiency.
According to Hexagon, the meter offers a number of improvements in ease of use, including indicator lights for device status and speed, as well as the manufacturer's Manual Probe Changer (MAC) for seamless probe changes. as
