Center of gravity scale
Safe to transport instead of at risk of tipping over
The more complex the shape of the contents of packages or containers, the more unstable and unpredictable the cargo becomes. This is because the three-dimensional center of gravity is usually off-center.
Its calculation is complicated or often even impossible. The load can therefore usually only be inadequately secured. The risk of transportation accidents increases. At Fachpack, the weighing and measuring technology company DEW is presenting a solution for determining the three-dimensional center of gravity for the first time. The 3D 5000 center of gravity scale measures the 3D center of gravity fully automatically in just one step. A weighing range of around 200 kilograms to 50 tons is possible.
It can be used to make freight that is at risk of tipping over safe for transportation. The 3D center of gravity scale was developed for Schneider Electric's logistics department at the Regensburg site. The weighing system has been in operation there since October 2017. It is used for 3D center of gravity measurement and load securing of custom-made medium-voltage switchgear. A patent application has been filed for DEW's load securing innovation.as
