Capacitive proximity sensors

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Capacitive proximity switches

The new KNS capacitive standard sensors from Di-Soric detect solid, liquid, powdery, electrically conductive and non-conductive objects and substances reliably and through non-conductive container walls, barriers and packaging.

The sensors are housed in a robust stainless steel housing. Their sensitivity can be adjusted via a potentiometer. The proximity switches are available with a diameter of 6.5 mm (flush/non-flush) and with the metric thread dimensions M8 (flush/non-flush) and M12 (flush only) in various installation forms.

They have a nominal switching distance of 2 mm, the switching distance is set via a potentiometer. The NO/NC function is switchable. The sensors are available with either IP 65 or IP 67 protection. The sensors with push-pull output (pnp + npn) are used in almost all areas of mechanical and plant engineering as well as in the automation industry.
