Automation of machining processes
Blum-Novotest is presenting FormControl X for process-reliable automation at AMB. The new software is a solution for machining centers with which more knowledge can be gained by continuously measuring workpieces during the machining process.
While the previous FormControl version was based on a scenario in which a machine operator works on a machine with a laptop and processes the measurements in parallel, the aim was to enable genuine measurement automation on the basis of a modern client-server architecture.
This means that workpieces can be measured after each machining operation, allowing the results to be used as the basis for optimization for the next component. This makes it possible to compensate for tool wear: FormControl X recognizes, for example, that drill holes become smaller over time when the tool wears out.
