Three sensors for short distances
The ISA3 series from SMC now comprises three types of gap sensors: In addition to the existing types G with a sensing distance of 0.02 to 0.15 mm and H with a sensing distance of 0.05 to 0.3 mm, the new type F has been added with a nominal range of 0.01 to 0.03 mm.
This extension means that the ISA3 air gap sensors can now also be used in processes with very short measuring distances or where greater accuracy is required. This expands their range of applications in quality inspection or in-process quality assurance.
Another new feature of the IS3 sensors is the connection cable for central wiring and the right-hand connection of the control unit. Both serve to reduce the wiring effort and allow more flexibility in the design. The air gap sensor has a two-line digital display that can show three colors. The switching points can be set in three steps. A key lock function also prevents setting values from being changed unintentionally.
