Faro introduces the Faro CAM2 2019 measurement software platform. It has been specifically designed to enable users of Faro measurement hardware products in the automotive, aerospace, machine tool, metalworking and a wide range of manufacturing industries to realize the best measurement performance.
These include the recently launched Faro Prizm Color Laser Line Probe and the 6Probe laser tracker product families. CAM2 2019offers improved usability, interactivity, flexibility and targeted, actionable intelligence.
Improved user-friendliness and efficiency
The tight integration with Faro measurement products enables a seamless user experience. For example, 6Probe users can now program button configurations and then interact with the software in real time via the device. Faro Laser Line Probe users benefit from immediate visual feedback on part quality via color deviations when scanning. In addition, all common CAD file formats can be imported directly into CAM2 using the integrated CAD importer.
CAM2 2019 has a standard set of software commands and routines that automatically guide the user visually and acoustically through certain work processes. This significantly reduces the amount of training required. In addition, preset scan profiles further optimize the end-to-end process by allowing users to select the appropriate scan setting for the part type at the click of a button.
Realizable intelligence through statistical process control
CAM2 2018 has been equipped with the Repeat Part Management (RPM) Control Center. The integrated, web-based dashboard reporting tool provides real-time inspection results and trend analysis in a user-friendly set of customizable visual reports. In addition, RPM enables the design of a defined inspection process. CAM2 2019 builds this capability into actionable intelligence by creating statistically-based graphs and results for trend analysis and predictive alerts. These alerts show when a measurement object is out of tolerance and also provide insight into the process and why the situation occurred.
