Working more easily with the S700 exoskeleton

More strength, less load. With the S700 active shoulder exoskeleton, activities above the head and at chest height are demonstrably and noticeably easier. The exoskeleton can also be individually adapted to the user. The S700 offers prevention against overload and fatigue - intelligently solved and without any superpowers.

Exoskeletons are body-worn support systems that redistribute the load to stronger parts of the body. With the new S700 active exoskeleton from exoIQ, the upper arms are pneumatically supported with up to 5 kg of additional force. This relieves the muscles in the shoulders, arms and neck.

Active support systems for the shoulder area are not yet available on the market. Like passive systems, they redirect the load from weaker to stronger parts of the body. In addition, they can be adapted to the person and the task, and the force development can be individually adjusted. Compared to passive exoskeletons, however, active exoskeletons are motorized and actively generate force, while passive systems are mechanical and do not generate active force.

Following comprehensive biomechanical analyses, the Hamburg-based company exoIQ has developed an active exoskeleton that demonstrably and noticeably facilitates activities above the head and at chest height.

The battery-powered S700 from exoIQ is an innovation that has never been seen on the market before. It offers employees a helping hand to avoid overload and fatigue. "The level of support required can be adjusted by each user and for each activity. The system can also be easily switched to pause mode so as not to interfere with secondary activities," explains Bernward Otten, Managing Director of exoIQ.

Exoskeletons are not intended to replace employees, but to reduce their workload. The latter has an equal impact on employee satisfaction and the quality of work. "Nothing is more flexible than humans, who have evolved over millions of years. The most important driver of successful companies is maintaining employee performance. And with the S700, we offer an ergonomic aid that makes work easier," adds Robert Weidner, Managing Director of exoIQ.

It should be noted that even if the S700 looks like Hollywood superhero equipment at first glance, things like flying or uprooting trees are not possible with the S700 alone.
