Laser sensor and I/O module monitor paper press

DS Smith uses intelligent I/O module with ARGEE field logic controller for press monitoring - without a PLC

Intelligence in the field
DS Smith, one of the leading manufacturers of customer-specific packaging and displays made from corrugated cardboard, used to monitor the output of its paper presses at the Erlensee plant near Hanau manually. Today, a complete solution consisting of a laser sensor and intelligent I/O module automatically informs the employees when the bales from the two paper presses have reached their maximum value and need to be removed. This saves a lot of time, as employees no longer have to constantly check the progress in the neighboring hall. Turck's compact TBEN-S I/O module with integrated ARGEE field logic controller acts as an independent controller - directly in the field, completely without a control cabinet.

What is ARGEE?
ARGEE is a simple and free programming environment that turns Turck's block I/O modules into field logic controllers. The solution is based on HTML5 and JavaScript and allows the user to program conditions and actions without software installation - even in the field with mobile devices. Turck's multi-protocol block I/Os can thus be used as logic controllers.
