Tethering system for caps TC-CAP-ONE
As part of EU Directive 2019/904, the caps of disposable PET bottles must be equipped with a tethering system in future. The cap can be screwed on intuitively and lifted off the bottle neck finish. Tethering is achieved by a double cut of the guarantee band. The double cut allows the customer to open the cap in stages and thus decide freely how far the cap is lifted off the neck finish. This makes it possible for the cap not to come into contact with the face. At the same time, the cap can be placed back on the muzzle and screwed down as usual. The absence of torsion and hinge elements prevents damage or failure of the tethering. The implementation of such a cap is possible in existing injection molds. The present cap concept thus impressively manages to implement the EU directive and at the same time meet the habits of the consumer and the needs of the industrial process without increasing the product weight.
