In our annual review, we took a look back at the year in industry. Here, we take another look back at the year for our industry magazine.

Since May, SCOPE has had a new layout and a new direction. We are moving with the times and repositioning ourselves as a link between the industries. Because if you want to be successful in the long term, you cannot escape the digital transformation. And this is why, since May, we have been providing you with information on topics such as embedded systems, real-time Ethernet, IT, cloud computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence or big data analytics in addition to the latest trends and developments in traditional mechanical engineering. The focus is always on the benefits of the various technologies for the manufacturing industry.

Over the last few weeks and months, we have received a lot of positive feedback on our realignment and our new look. We would like to thank you for this and at the same time encourage you to continue to send us your opinion on our articles and our magazine.

Successful event premiere
However, we are not only breaking new ground in print and online. In October 2018, the first "Modern Assembly" congress took place alongside Motek. 85 participants spent two days learning about the latest trends and developments in industrial assembly. It was organized by the three industry magazines SCOPE, handling and Computer&AUTOMATION. And it will take place again next year.

We will also be organizing further SCOPE events. Our "OT meets IT" congress will kick things off at the end of May. However, the Industrial Internet of Things is also bringing different disciplines ever closer together, especially with OT (Operational Technology) and IT (Information Technology), two worlds colliding. On the one side are the experts for processes and production, on the other the specialists for IT, data analysis and software. These two worlds must now be brought together in order to take your own company to the next level and increase competitiveness. The OT meets IT congress brings the two worlds together.
