Standard for the marking of pipe contents
ISO-20560-compliant pipe markers
A new global ISO-20560 standard is now available for standardizing the marking of hidden and often hazardous pipe contents in factories and plants. Compliant pipe markers are already available from Brady.
In response to increasing international labor mobility, the ISO-20560 standard aims to increase workplace safety and reduce risks and training costs for international personnel due to country-specific pipe labeling standards. The new international pipe marking standard uses globally recognized GHS/CLP symbols on a highly visible yellow background to alert employees, international subcontractors and first responders to hazards. The new standard also specifies pipe marker size based on pipe diameter to improve visibility from a distance.
Brady already offers ISO-20560 compliant designs on pipe marker materials for the industry. They adhere and remain legible even under harsh conditions, are resistant to high and low temperatures and to a wide range of chemicals and fuels. Detailed technical data sheets are available. The pipe markers can be printed in several sizes and therefore fit the smallest as well as the largest pipe diameters. They are attached by means of a self-adhesive layer, an adhesive strip, a magnetic layer or other attachment options.
With a Brady safety printer, companies can already design and print a compliant ISO 20560 pipe marker in their factory. All they need to do is enter the substance and pipe diameter.
