The future of manufacturing

Visitors to the Fanuc stand at EMO were able to see, among other things, how CNC machine tools, various robots and software solutions interact.

The application cells were connected to industrial IoT applications that run on the field system platform. Cooperation partners contribute to a broad software offering by developing suitable IoT solutions for the platform. One part will focus on "green mobility" and EV battery handling, with several robots performing handling tasks for battery parts or complete battery packs.

The centerpiece of the stand was an exhibition focusing on factory automation (FA). A tunnel-like gallery showcased a wide range of FA solutions including digital twin technology. Fanuc also exhibited the latest robot models and presented an ROI calculator for the use of robots.

The new Robodrill DiB-Plus offers revised spindle variants, new control options and servo drives as well as mechanical improvements. The Robocut-CiC wire EDM machine has been given greater rigidity thanks to a reinforced mechanical structure, enabling more precise machining and higher repeat accuracy.

The new Robocut-C400iC and C600iC were also on show at EMO. A Robocut-CiC produced the tool inserts for the third new Robomachine, the Roboshot-SiB injection molding machine. The Industrial IoT area showcased scalable IoT solutions that aim to increase production efficiency.
