Digital production
Kuka and T-Systems cooperate
Kuka and T-Systems enter into a partnership. Together, they want to make companies fit for digitalization.
The automation specialist Kuka and the IT service provider T-Systems are entering into a partnership. The aim is to make companies fit for digitalization. An agreement to this effect was recently signed in Augsburg.
From small production cells to production lines, Kuka's robots are used in many branches of industry. With the right software and other digital services, the robots become intelligent and users can analyze and optimize processes through end-to-end data acquisition and processing.
However, integrating robots into the IT infrastructure and connecting digital services at the same time poses challenges for some users; there is often a lack of resources and expertise. This is where T-Systems comes into play: with its "Edge" portfolio, the IT specialist offers IT services such as servers, integration, maintenance and support as well as security for companies. The partnership between the two companies is now set to merge robots, IT hardware and services into a single unit.
In concrete terms, this means for users: Kuka and T-Systems supply the robots and a complete digital package for production operations. This consists of modular hardware as well as flexibly selectable digital and managed services. All data is processed in the user's local IT infrastructure. Cloud connections are possible on request.
